Diablo 4 After BlizzCon 2026: Amazon, Switch 2 and More
Diablo 4 after BlizzCon 2026: the Amazon class pack planned for the first half of 2027, the Age of Hatred Collection on Switch 2, a Lord of Hatred recap, Season 15 highlights, the Netflix series and a short note on Diablo V.
After BlizzCon 2026, the two headline Diablo 4 announcements are an Amazon class pack planned for the first half of 2027 and the Diablo IV: Age of Hatred Collection, which launched on Nintendo Switch 2 on September 15, 2026. Blizzard's BlizzCon announcements did not include another expansion after Lord of Hatred.
Blizzard's list of everything announced at the BlizzCon 2026 opening ceremony covers both. The same ceremony revealed Diablo 5, officially Diablo V, which has its own section below, along with a Netflix animated series. A Lord of Hatred recap and Season 15 highlights fill in the rest. For what the Season 16 test server showed, see Diablo 4 Season 16 PTR: Tyrael's Boons and Horadric Items.
When Does the Diablo 4 Amazon Class Come Out?
Blizzard calls the Amazon Diablo IV's first class pack and gives a window of the first half of 2027. That is all the timing so far, and Blizzard says more details will come later.
What is confirmed about the class is short:
- It comes from the island of Skovos, which was introduced in Lord of Hatred.
- It has four archetypes: Champion, Skirmisher, Ranger and Commander.
- It uses a bow and a javelin.
Because more details are promised for later, how the four archetypes play is still unknown. D2R players can browse Amazon builds for Diablo II: Resurrected in the build guides; those cover the D2R class, not the Diablo 4 version.
What Is in the Diablo 4 Age of Hatred Collection on Switch 2?
Diablo IV: Age of Hatred Collection bundles the base game, Vessel of Hatred and Lord of Hatred. It launched on Nintendo Switch 2 on September 15, 2026.
Input options are specific. USB mouse and keyboard are supported, and the Joy-Con 2 mouse is not. A mouse setup on Switch 2 therefore means a USB mouse.
What Did Lord of Hatred Add to Diablo 4?
Lord of Hatred is the second expansion after Vessel of Hatred. It released on April 28, 2026, after being announced at The Game Awards on December 11, 2025. It brings the Skovos region and the Warlock class, with the Paladin playable as well, plus an overhauled endgame and Horadric Cube crafting.
War Plans arrived with it, and the Season 16 PTR builds on them with War Plans Tactics, covered in the PTR changes article.
What Were the Season 15 Highlights?
Season 15, Season of Hell's Legacy, has been live since September 15, 2026 on patch 3.2.1. It is a 30th anniversary season, and Blizzard's Season 15 post lists these pieces:
- Deckard Cain returns, along with Diablo, Baal and Mephisto.
- The questline collects three Splinters of Evil: Diablo beneath Tristram Cathedral, Baal at Arreat Summit and Mephisto in the Durance of Hate.
- Waking Nightmares, plus eight Soul Splinters, with up to three fitting in jewelry slots.
- Shared War Plans across matching alts.
- Mythic Unique crafting routes, and nine legacy Uniques added permanently.
- Nine Season Ranks with 125 objectives.
- Rebirth, which converts an Eternal character to Seasonal at level 1.
Is There a Diablo Netflix Series?
A Diablo animated series is in development with Netflix, announced at the same ceremony. Blizzard has not given a title or a date. Diablo turned 30, and Blizzard says more than 130 million players have played across the franchise.
What About Diablo 5, Officially Diablo V?
The next numbered game is Diablo V, with a release window of "Coming Spring 2029." Blizzard says it is officially in development and still early, and platforms have not been announced. Blizzard plans regular development updates starting in 2027, and players can sign up for future updates at diablo5.blizzard.com. The Diablo 5 release date overview covers what is confirmed so far, and the guide on what to play before Diablo 5 covers the wait.
What Is Coming in Diablo 4 Season 16?
Season 16 was tested on the 3.3.0 PTR, a PC-only test that ran from October 27 to November 3, 2026. It covered War Plans Tactics, a Tyrael's Boons tree of up to 132 points, static Season Blessings, Horadric Items that tie gear to Talisman set bonuses, and changes for eight classes. These are PTR values and can change before live. Season 16's live date and name are not announced, and the full breakdown is in the PTR changes article.
What Has Blizzard Not Announced for Diablo 4 Yet?
The gaps are short. As of November 2026, Blizzard's BlizzCon announcements did not include another expansion after Lord of Hatred. The Amazon has a window of the first half of 2027, with more details promised later, and Season 16 has neither a date nor a name.
What Can Diablo 4 Players Do Until the Amazon Arrives?
Diablo II: Resurrected Season 16 starts Friday, November 13, 2026 at 5 PM PST (8 PM EST). The start date guide lists the time for each region, how to find a D2R Season 16 team covers signing up, and the teams page shows open rosters.
Diablo V is borrowing from Diablo II too: Blizzard says its crafting includes Diablo II-style Runes and Runewords, and the D2R runeword database shows the originals.
