Diablo 4 Season 16 PTR: Tyrael's Boons and Horadric Items
Diablo 4 Season 16 as tested on the 3.3.0 PTR, which ran October 27 to November 3, 2026 on PC: War Plans Tactics, Tyrael's Boons, Horadric Items, class changes, Signet of Pelghain and Helltide timing. PTR values can change before live.
Diablo 4 Season 16 was tested on the 3.3.0 PTR, a PC-only test that ran from October 27 to November 3, 2026. As of November 2026, Blizzard has not announced Season 16's live date or name, and every number below is a PTR value that can change before live.
The test opened at 10 a.m. PDT on October 27 and closed at 10 a.m. PST on November 3. Blizzard's 3.3.0 PTR post says changes will be made "before the next season goes live," so this is a preview of the season's systems, not a final patch list. Season 15, Season of Hell's Legacy, has been live since September 15, 2026. For the rest of the roadmap, see Diablo 4 After BlizzCon 2026: Amazon, Switch 2 and More.
How Do War Plans Tactics and Marks of Wisdom Work?
War Plans arrived with Lord of Hatred, and the PTR adds War Plans Tactics on top of them. Players spend points on nodes to raise the odds of their preferred activities or rewards. The system works for both Seasonal and Eternal characters.
Marks of Wisdom pay for changing those nodes. They are earned by turning in War Plans, and the PTR capped them at 20, which means they cannot be stockpiled indefinitely.
What Are Tyrael's Boons in Diablo 4 Season 16?
Tyrael's Boons is a season-themed War Plans tree. It holds up to 132 points, which Blizzard says is enough for 4 of 6 selections across Curious Addition, Merchant of Mystery, Scent of Gold and Trash for Treasure. On the PTR that meant players could not take every selection, so the choices matter.
All Seasonal players can use it, and owning Lord of Hatred is not required. The PTR also puts a price on changing your mind: unassigning a point costs 5,000,000 gold per point. At that rate, deciding before spending points is safer than experimenting.
This guide lists only those four names. What each one pays out is left out rather than guessed, and Blizzard's PTR post is the place for anything beyond the names.
What Are Static Season Blessings and Horadric Items?
Season Blessings become static on the PTR, meaning the same five each time.
Horadric Items are Legendaries that tie your gear to Talisman set bonuses. Two rules are spelled out:
- A Horadric jewelry affix adds 1 to the set count.
- Horadric armor and weapon affixes add effects once you have at least a 2-piece set.
On paper, a jewelry affix that adds 1 to the count could help a build reach the 2-piece mark that the armor and weapon affixes need. How much that matters depends on final numbers, which Blizzard can still change.
The Reaper changes too: the Fractured Reaper merges with the Corrupted Reaper's abilities. This guide does not go further than that one line.
Which Classes Change in the Diablo 4 Season 16 PTR?
The PTR touched eight classes. Every figure is a PTR value, so read it as a preview. Blizzard's PTR post has the full wording for each change.
| Class | PTR change |
|---|
| Barbarian | Double Swing goes from 75% to 150% per swing |
| Druid | Upgrades and variants no longer grant the Nature Magic or Shapeshifting tags, which means less tag stacking |
| Necromancer | Blood Orb healing drops from 15% to 10% of Maximum Life; Bone Spear goes from 160% to 175% |
| Paladin | Aura Potency scales with Skill Ranks |
| Rogue | Shadow Imbuement stacks instead of refreshing |
| Sorcerer | Ball Lightning Implosion costs no mana, has a 3 second duration (was 2) and a 10 second cooldown (was 12); Meteor's cooldown goes from 15 seconds to 10 |
| Spiritborn | Razor Wings goes from 120% to 160%; Stinger goes from 140% to 125% |
| Warlock | New Nether Step variant, Perpetual Darkness; Moloch's Beating Flame per empowered skill goes from 20-30% to 15-20% |
Most rows change a number. The Druid tag change, the Paladin's Aura Potency scaling, the Rogue's stacking change and the Warlock's new variant are the exceptions, since they alter how a skill behaves instead of how large a value is. The Necromancer and Spiritborn rows are trades inside one kit, with one number falling while another rises. Whether any of this survives to live is the open question.
What Changes for the Signet of Pelghain and Helltides?
On the PTR, the Signet of Pelghain is limited to the Necromancer, Sorcerer and Rogue. Helltide timing also changes: Helltides start on the hour in base zones and at :30 in expansion zones. That staggers the two zone types by half an hour.
What Has Blizzard Not Announced About Season 16?
As of November 2026, Season 16's live date and name are not announced. The PTR ended on November 3, and Blizzard has said changes are still coming before launch, so the numbers above are a snapshot. Any conclusion about how strong a class will be in Season 16 is a guess until the season is live.
What Can You Play While Waiting for Season 16?
Season 15 is live, and there are other options in the meantime. Diablo II: Resurrected Season 16 starts Friday, November 13, 2026 at 5 PM PST (8 PM EST). The start date guide has the time for every region, how to find a D2R Season 16 team covers joining a roster, and the teams page lists open teams.
Sets tie the games together. Horadric Items link gear to Talisman set bonuses in Diablo 4, Blizzard says Diablo 5 (officially Diablo V) brings back gear-based sets with an itemization inspired by Diablo II, and D2R's set items can be browsed in the items database. The Diablo 5 release date overview covers what is confirmed so far, and the guide on what to play before Diablo 5 covers the wait.
